Making our own Stone-age paint!

This term we are learning about history and time and part of our focus is on the Stone-age period and how the Stone-age people may have lived their lives.

We have talked about the type of life that Stone-aged people may have lived and the differences between our own lives and theirs. The children have compared our modern day resources, such as paint with the resources that the Stone-age people would have used. We had a go at making our own paint from organic materials, such as chalk, charcoal, mud and Aloe Vera plant leaves. We hammered them with stones into a sloppy paste and painted images resembling the pictures we had seen on real cave paintings.
