Hello. My name is Miss Trudi, I joined the Dunkirk staff team in September 2014. I provide additional support for children who need it, short or long term, for a number of reasons; special educational needs, social and emotional difficulties, communication and language development. So in January 2015 a nurture group “ Blossom” was established at our Abbey Campus to provide this support.
I spent a number of years working in a specialist provision, where I gained a wealth of experience, knowledge and certificates in special educational needs, particularly autism. I have recently completed a year long research study into the need for and success of nurture groups in primary schools across the country. I am looking forward to Dunkirk School receiving recognition from the Nurture Group Network for the positive impact Blossom group support has on our children.
I have two sons, one beginning his GCSE pathway and the other just beginning secondary school. As a family we enjoy travel particularly abroad. We lived in Spain for a few years when the children were younger and have experienced first-hand the challenges of my children attending school where they had very little understanding of the local culture or language.
Blossom group welcomes families to visit and share the achievements of the children. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with your amazing children and am passionate about supporting them to reach their full potential.
