A little bit of Friction!

Banyan spent the afternoon investigating the force that acts on surfaces when they rub against each other

We spent the afternoon investigating the force that acts on two surfaces when they rub together - friction.

Harveen found that his shoe had the most friction which means it had the best grip.

Two different experiments were carried out.

One used a ramp and measured the slope when the shoe started to slip down in centimetres. The other used a Newton meter to pull the shoe and measure the result in Newtons.

We found that some shoes had more grip or friction than others.
