The Cassandra Room, Wollaton Hall.
Cedar Class visited Wollaton Hall to view the new Cassandra Room.
We had a special treat when we went to Wollaton Hall to visit the new attraction there, The Cassandra room. We met the author of a book that has been created to tell the story of the first hundred years of Wollaton Halls history.
Five children from our class had been to the exhibit before it opened to the public to help the company, Dragons Breath Theatre put the finishing touches to it from a child's point of view.
The author told us how he had researched the story of the Willoughby family and especially of Cassandra Willoughby who had who arrived at the Hall to become its mistress aged just 17 years old in 1686.
Have a look at some of the images the children took on their visit by clicking here.
Watch this space for some examples of writing inspired by the visit and some very tense film trailers also based on their stories.
