Making new discoveries

Children love out-door spaces and individuals find the particular spaces or activities that interest them. The social learning is massive. You can see examples of this in the gallery. The growing spaces and animal habitats need maintaining as well as studying and you can see the children actively involved in this.

In the gallery you will see photos of the children in Autumn. There is less watering and few vegetables to tend but there is loads to do. An important aspect of children's  learning is making safe decisions with tools for digging or saws for preparing den building materials. You will see how safe the children were and how much they enjoyed this work. These children know the names now of so many trees as they recognise the leaves in a regular quiz. Try it when you are next out.

You will also see how much science goes on. Using magnifiers and identification charts to see what is living in the different habitats and how this changes through the seasons.
