Languages Day 2016
Languages Day 2016 was a huge success!
This year’s Languages Day celebrated the languages of our school community. We are lucky enough to have children that speak over 32 different languages.
Parents came in to share their home languages with their child’s class. These languages included Spanish, Vietnamese, Urdu, Kurdish, Russian, Italian, Arabic, Albanian and Yoruba to name just a few!
Children also did some ‘teaching’ of their home languages to their classes (and of course their class teacher too)!
Each class then practised some taught languages in various ways such as having an 'Arabic Cafe', singing songs, counting together and writing their names in different languages. Please use this link to have a look at some of the activities - Language Day Gallery
