  • DT Food and Nutrition

    For our DT project this term we looked at Food and Nutrition.  This included investigating healthy and unhealthy foods, kitchen safety and preparing a main course and dessert.  For our main course, we made a vegetable pie and for dessert we made an eggless sponge.  The eggless sponge was a recipe from World War II so it linked to our History topic.

  • Year 5 Trip to Wollaton Park

    In the Spring Term Year 5 visited Wollaton Park.  In our history topic we were learning all about the American Paratroopers who camped at Wollaton Park whilst preparing for World War II.  We also learnt that after WWII Wollaton Park was used as a Prisoner of War Camp so we visited the park to see where they were based.

  • DT Ferris Wheels

    For DT in the Autumn term we designed and created working models of rides that would have been on a Victorian Fairground.  In Year 5 we chose to create Ferris wheels.

  • Remarkable Roman Cages

    For our DT Project this term we created prototypes of cages that could have been used to transport animals to the coliseum in Ancient Roman times (we did add a modern twist with an electrical circuit and a light).
