At Dunkirk, we use the FFT Success for All phonics scheme to support your child's reading ability. However, literacy is more than just learning the skills of decoding a word. We also carry out daily Talk 4 Writing sessions to develop your child's vocabulary, understanding of the purpose of a text and text type features. We firmly believe that children should develop a love of reading and stories and enable this by regular reading for pleasure sessions and turning stories into exciting adventures!
