Pooh Sticks!

After listening to the story of Stick Man, the children were curious to discover what Pooh sticks were. Later that day, everyone from Willow and Fig Class went to a little bridge on the canal armed with sticks to play Pooh sticks and race their sticks against each other. Mrs Bowen and Mr Speed kindly demonstrated how to play the game. I'm not sure who had more fun, the children or Mrs Bowen! EVERYONE thoroughly enjoyed this experience! What a fun way to spend an afternoon, The following week, the children then watched the animated version of the story. Never have I seen a class full of 3, 4 and 5 year olds sit so quietly, utterly entranced by the story and such emotion on their faces while watching. It was a wonderful stimulus for activities and learning that has followed.
