Dunkirk Primary School

Nottingham Castle

We went on a brilliant trip to Nottingham Castle. We walked to and from the Castle and had the whole of the inside children's area to ourselves.  We could test our skills at virtual archery and fighting Little John with a virtual wooden staff. There was also a game where we were outlaws stealing money from rich people in Nottingham town, we had to avoid being spotted and starting a hue and cry. A hue and cry is a mob that starts to chase and tries to capture a criminal. Very exciting, will Robin Hood get away?

We looked at the exhibitions and galleries. We found some Ancient Greek amphora on display that we could compare to ours we made earlier in the year.

We also spent some time in the shade of the beautiful trees in the grounds, sketching the views of modern Nottingham from the battlements.

Risindu spotted a flying ants nest which was by far the best thing of the day for our budding entomologist!

It was a great day enjoyed by all!

Have a look at our photos below to see what we got up to.
