Wollaton at War
We are reading the fabulous 'Adolphus Tips' book in Big Read. This story is set in 1943 during the second world war and is the diary of a young girl who has to leave her town of Slapton as allied forces prepare to invade France. But her little cat Tips has other ideas.
As part of our theme work about World War 2, we have been learning about Wollaton Hall and the part it played in World War 2. American paratroopers were based there in preparation for D-Day and then returned and remained at Wollaton Hall until they were required in Belgium. Here are some sketches of the hall.
