Science - Extra Special Xylems
In Science, we have been looking at plant parts and their purpose. Plants have tubes called xylems, that run though their stems and roots. These tubes carry water, minerals and sugars.
We thought about how we could represent this using coloured water. Here are some of our thoughts:
Then we used our knowledge about plant parts to complete our prediction work:
Edible and inedible plants
We also looked at the different parts of plants you can and cannot eat (edible and inedible) - there were a few surprises!
Did you know?
Tomatoes and cucumbers are actually fruits! You know if a plant is a fruit because it has seeds and flowers... can you think of any others?
