What do we do outdoors?

I'm STICKMAN, I'm STICKMAN, I'm STICKMAN that's me!

Today we made our own stick people and animals.

We had to use sticks and twigs and join them using string. Miss Lisa told us this is called 'lashing', she told us that making knots will exercise our hands and our brains. Phew! We had to tie very difficult knots whilst holding our sticks together; often we had to practice our partner work, because we needed more than two hands!

Firstly we had to find, choose and sort the sticks we could find around the playground. We needed medium sized and small twigs and sticks not huge logs! Then we had to decide what size of stick we wanted, we snapped them if they were too long.

When we had added decoration and googly eyes we acted out our very own Stick character stories. We had great fun!
