Home Learning - 24/3/20

Good Morning,

Hope you are all well and spending time with your family at home.

Here are today’s learning tasks.

Maths

Practice your 2x, 5x, 10x table – you may want to colour these in different colours on your 100 grid to see the patterns. E.g. the 10 times table is down the side in one column.

Once you’ve coloured you may need to use the grid to help you with the below-

-Choose one times table at a time and start by chanting these together e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

-Play the missing number game. Chant out 2, 4, and then clap on a missing number. You have to guess which number in the times table has been missed.

-As you get confident change the starting number, it doesn’t always have to be 0. E.g. 6, 8, 10, clap – What number is next?

- Challenge – some of you may want to jump backwards in 2’s, 5’s 10’s but only do this if you’re confident! E.g. 100, 90, 80, 70, 60

Number formation sheet –

Look inside your pack and you will find a tracing sheet for numbers.

Make sure you start and end in the correct place so that your numbers are facing the correct way. Once you’ve had a go, cover over all the numbers and spend time making sure that these are formed correctly.

English

Find the ‘Is it a Question’ sheet.

Talk together about what a question is (it is when you’re asking something). Read each sentence together and decide which of them is asking something and needs a question mark. If it is a question put a question mark at the end, if it is not a question put a full stop.

High frequency words-

Practice reading and writing the next 10 high frequency words e.g was, you, they, on, she, is, for, at, his, but. You may want to write these words into your own sentences.

-Try out some phonics games and explore Letter Join.

Reading

-Re-read the story of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and turn over onto the back to answer some questions about the story.

-Today is my turn to read at KS1 story time so I will upload the video of my chosen story ‘Peace at Last’ at around 3pm. Hope you can go to our YouTube channel to watch.

Please keep sending in pictures of the wonderful learning that you are doing at home. When you do, please let me know whether you are happy for this to go on our class page.  I am just about to update the school website this morning so go and visit to see your work being celebrated J

To keep yourself active go to YouTube and type in ‘The Body Coach TV’ where Joe Wicks will be streaming a live P.E  workout daily from 9am! I am going to be joining in with it this morning too!

Any questions please feel free to reply to my email.

Speak to you again soon,
