  • Fun with mirrors!

    Maple have had a fun time today learning all about mirrors. We earned that mirrors reflect light because they are smooth, flat and shiny. We also learned that mirrors reverse the image they reflect. We tested this with some mirror writing and by playing with chalk! Maple class had to follow some wiggly lines but they were only allowed to look in the mirrors they were holding on their heads! Take a look at the photos below to see more.

  • Capture the King!

    For this term's theme, we will be creating a Viking board game. The first part of this has been learning how to play an actual Viking board game called Hnefatafl, usually just called Tafl (table). This is a strategy game a little bit like chess.   • The Ancient Egyptian Afterlife

    The children of Maple Class had a fantastic time last term learning all about the afterlife process of the Ancient Egyptians. We learned about the process of mummification by mummifying some tomatoes and learning a song! We also discovered the Ancient Egyptian beliefs about their journey through the afterlife and it's many obstacles. Take a look below!
